WSOP and GGPoker team up to launch new online poker site in Ontario

Online poker is coming to Canada in April, with a new site supplied by the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the GGPoker Network. Yesterday, the duo announced they would be bringing a new regulated and licensed online poker site to Ontario, known as WSOP.CA. The launch is subject to the approval of an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.

Early April Launch

If all goes well, the new WSOP-branded site will open early next month. The platform will use GGPoker software and offer players in Ontario a chance to compete in WSOP events. Players can access satellites to major tournaments along with quality tournaments at the site.

Ontario players will also have access to a wide array of bonuses and promotions via the WSOP site. Each player that signs up for a new account is automatically enrolled into the Caesars Rewards program. With gameplay, members earn points that can be used to redeem for items such as hotel stays, food, gaming, and more at Caesars’ venues.

Existing players of GGPoker in Ontario can transfer their account to the new WSOP site after it is live in the province. To do so, players simply log in to GGPoker and approve an automatic account transfer. A software update is then started.

Players of GGPoker can access the launch promotions once WSOP.CA is live as they will be a new member of the brand. Locals are excited about the launch, including Ontario native, Daniel Negreanu. The poker pro is a Global Ambassador for GGPoker, and he is excited to see the two brands come together to launch the site in Ontario.

WSOP Super Circuit

While the WSOP and GGPoker are busy setting up a new site in Canada, the WSOP Super Circuit is in full swing. The series started yesterday at GGPoker and offers players 18 circuit rings to compete for. A total of $100 million in prize money is up for grabs.

The series includes several unique events such as a Mystery Bounty Game and a Red Cross Charity Event. The charity tournament will have a $1,111 buy-in and provide $111 from each player to the Ukrainian Red Cross to assist with the Ukraine relief effort.

Ring event winners will earn an extra benefit from the WSOP including an entry into a bracelet event hosted in Las Vegas later this year. It is expected that this series will see a large turnout for most events as players vie for WSOP glory in the available ring events.
